“I joined Glaister Ennor after being a solicitor and partner in Bell Gully for over 20 years. I moved here because I enjoy the closer and enduring relationships I can build with my clients, which is how I prefer to do business. My other partners are highly regarded in their areas of expertise and it is good for both my clients and me to know that I can easily access additional information or expertise by walking a few yards along the corridor. Actually, I know my voice can carry that far by itself, but I know that a personal visit and smile, rather than an email, will achieve a better and quicker result.” |

“I spent 12 months with a law firm in Whangarei after graduating from Otago before I joined Glaister Ennor. I have always wanted to practice in dispute resolution – While at university, I represented my university as well as New Zealand at national and international negotiation competitions – so being part of the litigation team here is great for me. I get to work closely with the litigation partners and deal directly with clients on a daily basis, gaining experience in dispute resolution in a commercial environment. It has been a steep learning curve, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.” |
HR Manager: |
“We have a pretty low turnover of staff here, but whenever I have to look for new staff our recruitment agency tells me we have a reputation for being a great place to work. Word like that gets around, so it makes my life much easier! I think our size helps – we are big enough to offer a good range of work and career advancement and small enough to know everyone by name. Training is on-going. We look to see what gaps there are in the skills people have and then tailor training accordingly.” |

Legal Secretary:
|
“I’ve been a legal secretary for over 20 years but recently decided I wanted to move my career on so I decided to qualify as a legal executive. Glaister Ennor has been really supportive of me while I trained with time off to study and to sit exams. Now I can extend the work I do which makes it more satisfying for me (and Glaister Ennor too I would hope). There is a great team spirit here.” |
