History
In 2007 Glaister Ennor commissioned a book to celebrate our centenary. Illustrated with striking historical photographs, the book intertwines the Glaister Ennor story with the history of Auckland itself.
Glaister Ennor was founded in 1907 by 29 year old WDM (Murray) Glaister. This was also the year New Zealand left its colony status behind and became an autonomous Dominion. An auspicious year all round!
Murray Glaister lost his first business partner in the great flu epidemic of 1918/19. Since then, the firm has been through another world war, the Great Depression, and decades of huge social and economic change and upheaval.
In 1937 we moved from Endeans Building in Queen Street to our present location in Norfolk House, a gorgeous heritage building (built in 1912) on the corner of Vulcan Lane and High Street.
Today, with 12 partners and over 70 staff, Glaister Ennor occupies the whole building above street level.
Loyalty and mutual respect among the partners and staff have always been a cornerstone of Glaister Ennor’s culture. They underpin our service ethic to our clients and our longstanding partner and staff appointments within the firm.
